We’ve been gathering a bit more regularly now that the Fire of Peace has been (unexpectedly!) lit and is being kept lighting on the land 24/7. So we’re not going to keep reaching out to all our usual favourite musicians, traders and friends individually for every single gathering. But please reach out to us if you feel the call to bring some music or anything else to the mix, anytime! New musical acts, art, skills, traders etc are always welcome too. The Solstice Gathering will be pretty small but with a good buzz and some interesting people. We encourage people to bring poetry, storytelling and music instruments for around the fire. It’s also worth noting that we can have visitors most days. And obviously there’s no tickets needed for visits on normal days. Again please just message ahead so that we can expect you. People are welcome to sit at the Fire of Peace and have a cuppa and some quiet time once the simple requests of no meat/fish and no alcohol are respected. Donations of firewood and turf are always welcome but by no means compulsory! In time we will be interested in having people that can mind the fire overnight or for a few hours to give the fire keepers a rest. If any of this feels inspiring to you, please let us know. We’re going to have a small gathering for Solstice. Festival Mná is happening up the road on Sat20th. So we’ve made camping available for Festival Mná attendees and their families for Friday and Saturday night. Then on Sunday 21st we will have a gentle Heartspace day around the Fire of Peace. Liis will be available with the usual lovely slow-cooked food and drinks. That means a hot meal each evening, Turkish style coffee etc, seasonal foraged food from the land, all lovingly selected and cooked on the fire. There’s just 30 tickets for Festival Mná and 20 tickets for Heartspace. We will limit this to 50 people. So please reserve your ticket asap. All details on the website there. Moonrise over Uisneach Lastnight We are going into a full moon this weekend. Sean Kilkenny will be having a wonderful bonfire tonight and rooting the Fire of Peace into his land in Clare. If you can’t make it there, there will also be a few of us at the Uisneach Fire of Peace tonight too, including Joe, Emily and a few others who have shown massive support this month by keeping the batteries full, bringing supplies, and stopping in for chats. One of the local farmers helped us put up a small greenhouse frame and plant seeds. It’s a little late in the season but we will still have a yield of food this year which is lovely. Liis is serving her wonderful vegan treats and Turkish Style Coffee at @moynaltyyogafestival__ today and she has brought some sticks and embers from the Fire of Peace to add to the Moynalty bonfire as it is lit tonight too. As this flame continues to spread from friend to friend, it feels gentle and strong. If you can’t attend any of the fires in person you can light a candle with us and tune in. Fire of Peace 5:38am Thursday 14 May We’ve been holding the intentional fire here since it was lit on Sunday May 3rd. So many people have sat with the fire, holding space, feeding good intentions. The main themes which with it was lit are Peace Sovereignty and Love. Some of you have been asking how or when you can visit and spend some time at the fire. It was always our intention to have meitheals and market days eventually. But for now we’d like to start with opening up this Saturday if anyone would like to come and simply sit with the fire and maybe have some food. We always cook a lovely vegetarian/vegan gluten free dinner and we have teas and coffee etc. We’re gonna have a donation bucket if anyone chooses to support while here. If anyone wants to bring a special stick from their land or hometown and put intentions in for your family or for peace, please do. You can also bring home ashes or embers or light a candle to add to your own fire as was Irish tradition. Donations of firewood or turf are hugely appreciated or if anyone has contacts for cheap or free firewood in the Westmeath area please let us know. We’d also welcome anyone with a chainsaw willing to cut some of the fallen trees for a few hours. With wood donations please no alder, elder, hawthorn, blackthorn wood. If you’ve nothing to bring or do you’re still welcome of course to just come and sit in peace. We wish to keep this fire going but we can’t do it alone. (Well we can but sure isn’t it nicer together) The land is strictly vegetarian/vegan and strictly no alcohol on-site. We’ve also Leave no Trace so everyone brings their own rubbish home.
